Using Computers & iPads

Computers and iPads are available to use by all patrons of the library.

To access the computers:

  • If you have a library card, enter your library card number in the ID space provided on the computer.
  • If you do not have a library card, please ask for a guest pass at the circulation desk.
  • If your library card is blocked, you may not be able to access the computer. If that happens, please ask for a guest pass at the circulation desk.
  • We use Chromeboxes at the Willimantic Public Library. There are no word processing capabilities; we recommend using your own personal email account to create word documents.

To print materials:

  • Printing costs $.10 per page for black and white, and $.25 per page for color printing.
  • Please press print and then approve the payment amount in order to send the request to the circulation desk, where we will release the job to the printer. You can pick up and pay for your prints at the circulation desk.

iPads:

  • Stationary iPads can be found around the pillar in the Adult Department. These iPads are designated for catalog browsing.
  • iPads can be requested for in-house use at the circulation desks, both upstairs and downstairs. These are for more general use.

Computer policies:

  • Please remember that the library is a public place.
    • Headphones should be used or the volume turned off on the computers and iPads at all times, in order to not disrupt other patrons.
    • Browsing needs to remain appropriate for a public place.
  • Patrons under the age of 18 should use the computers in the Youth Services Department. Patrons over the age of 18 should use the computers in the Adult Services Department. Patrons over the age of 18 accompanying a younger patron can use the computers in the Youth Services Department.
