Reserving the Community Room

This form requests use of the community room.  The room is only available for use during the hours the library is open. It does not guarantee that the room will be available for the requested time.  The booking is not guaranteed until you receive confirmation of your request.  If after booking the room, it becomes unavailable for any reason, we will attempt to reschedule your event.

Willimantic Public Library Community Room Policy

The Willimantic Public Library’s Community Room is part of our services to the community.  Priority for use of the room will be given firstly to events and programs sponsored by the library, secondly to non-profit groups and government entities, and thirdly to any other group or individual.

It can be reserved ahead of time up to three months in advance of the date, with up to three booked reservations in a three-month period.

The library will not charge any fees for reservation or use of the room. All events in the community room by outside groups or individuals must be free and open to any member of the public who wishes to attend.

Publicity for all events, other than those sponsored by the library, is the responsibility of the individual or group who has requested to use the room.

The community room is made available to the public regardless of the beliefs or affiliations of individuals or groups requesting its use.  Use of the community room does not constitute the Willimantic Public Library’s or the Town of Windham’s endorsement or advocacy of an event’s content or of an individual or group. Meetings or events may include content that may be unorthodox, unpopular with the majority, or controversial in nature. The library adheres to the principles of intellectual freedom, adopted by the American Library Association, as expressed in the Library Bill of Rights (link is external)

Use of the library’s facilities, including the community room, requires all attendees to follow the library’s behavior policy

The individual or organization booking the space is responsible for injury to any person attending the meeting and for any damage to personal property. If any damages occur to library facilities or equipment, the library may charge the user of the room to repair or restore the room and/or equipment to a safe condition for use.
