Search the Library Catalog?

Use the “Search Catalog” box for a quick keyword search. For more advanced searching, click on the link to our catalog. Type your search into the first box. The default search is by keyword; you can click the drop-down arrow next to “Keyword” and change it to Title, Author, Subject, or Series. You can also search for a specific format, such as audiobook or video recording, by clicking on the drop-down arrow next to “All Formats.” If you would like to search all Bibliomation libraries instead of only the Willimantic Public Library, click the drop-down arrow next to “Willimantic Public Library” and choose “Bibliomation” from the top of the list. Click the “Search” button to perform your search.

The search results page will show you all items that match your search, the call number (where it is located in the library), the status of the item, and more.

Renew Materials?

You can renew your materials at the front desk of either floor of the library, call us at (860) 465-3079 and ask to renew your materials, or renew online through your library account.

Items not eligible for renewal include: Mobile hotspots, DVDs, museum passes, themed backpacks, items on hold by another patron, and items that have already reached their renewal limit.

Request an Item?

If the item you are looking for is not available, you can put a hold on the item, so that when it is returned, it will be reserved for you.  You can also put holds on items our library does not own, and another library will send the item for you to pick up at our library. You can do this in-person or through our online catalog.

  • Search the library catalog and locate the item you are looking for
  • Click on the “Place Hold” button.  Sign in with your account and password if you have not already done so.
  • Confirm how you would like us to notify you when your item is ready and click the “Submit” button.
  • When your item is ready for pickup, we will contact you by your selected notification method. You can also log into your account anytime to view the status of the hold.

If there is an item that we do not own that you think would be a good fit in our library’s collection, please tell a staff member!

Check My Account?

Click on “Login” on the top right side of our catalog. You will be prompted to enter your username, which is your library card number, and your password. If it is the first time you have logged in, click on the link to set up your password. You must have provided the library your email address for this to work; if it does not, call or email us to set up your password.

If you have previously logged in, your library card number is your username, and whatever password you chose will be the password to enter. If you have forgotten your password, or have any difficulty with it, we can reset your password; you can ask us to do that when you are in the library, or we can make the change over the phone or via email.

Once you have logged in, the Account Summary screen will open, and show your name, how many items you have checked out, and other information. You can click on the buttons to show “Items Checked Out,” “Holds,” “Account Preferences,” and “My Lists.”

You may also call the library at 860-465-3079 and the staff will be happy to look up your record and answer any questions you may have.

Register for a Program?

The library offers a variety of programs year round for all ages. All programs are listed on our website and in our monthly newsletter. To register for programs that require it, please call the library at 860-465-3079, or register in person at the circulation desks. We do not hold programs when Windham Public Schools are cancelled due to inclement weather. Please note: Not all programs require registration, however, space is limited and walk-in programs are on a first come basis.
